If you're not lucky, or dont have the patience to test what's out there your probably wont get much of it. In fact, i never drive the cars rFactor came with, it always has to be some mod.Īnd thats what rFactor is about.
Second, you can see your driver hands on the cockpit (duh!) and overall, its a much better experience "out-the-box". First, in Gtr2, you get a pretty neat driving school, you unlock tracks and you have tons of championships. Once you get a feel for GT Legends, GTR2 or GTR Evolution you wont ever (EVER!) want to go back! From time to time i was checking rfactor mods on youtube -btw there's a huge list of mods on rfactorcentral- but they just felt bland at the time compared to Gtr2. Started with Test Drive Unlimited which btw makes the perfect transition from arcade to simulators and, before i knew it, i was hooked on simbin games - cockpit view, no abs, no traction control or stuff like that, altering car setups, learning brakepoints, watching my lap times, which were of course pathetic attempts at that time but oh boy, what a difference! Or, until a week after i bought my wheel because that first week i kept cursing it, thinking i wasted my money on something i just couldnt get the hang of it. I had to admit that, it was pretty cool playing Toca, Flatout, Grid, Burnout and games like that. There are plenty of games out there made for your keyboard or gamepad that are enjoyable enough for a casual racer.
